Homemade Suppositories
Vaginal and Rectal Suppositories made with ingredients you can trust can be powerful healing tools
There are plenty of suppositories out there and almost none of them have ONLY high quality ingredients without fillers, not to mention the specific healing herbs or qualities you personally require for whatever healing journey you are on.
Suppositories have been used forever in order to support specific healing, especially because depositing these materials directly into the vaginal or anal cavities bypasses digestion. Digestion will often reduce the useable amount of healing power significantly or entirely. Bypass digestion to get herbs and essential oils or other potent healing matter directly into the blood stream or area of need, if you’re specifically trying to heal your vagina, rectum, anus, or colon.
For women who are dealing with hormonal shifts because of puberty, birth control, pregnancy, perimenopause, menopause, or even false peri or menopause because of chronic toxicity and disease states, it is especially helpful to insert Shea Butter into the rectal cavity nightly.
Additionally, if you’re someone dealing with rectal trauma from childbirth or otherwise, from disease or infection, or even from fissures or fistulas, this can be a method that empowers quicker and more complete healing.
I’m not a doctor and have no power to prescribe or diagnose and everything I say is simple sharing of my own methods and should not be undertaken unless your personal primary care practitioner who is beholden to pharma and indoctrinated into the cult of medics tells you to do it — thus ends the legalese.
First off, you’ll want to make a little investment that’s going to last you for a long, long time, so remember that when investing in quality and making sure you’re giving yourself the best. Ideally, you want to use silicone moulds, organic and raw shea butter, and organic non GMO herbs. Here are the companies and products I trust, with no affiliation, just love.
Organikit makes silicone moulds that are perfect and come with cleaning tools and the droppers to deposit your specific mixture into the moulds. You’ll want to note that the recipe I’ll give you is too much for these moulds. Half it or buy a larger kit. This one is 24 suppositories worth and the recipe makes approximately 48 suppositories.
Mountain Rose Herbs is an oldschool favorite and has long since proven their dedication to high quality, regenerative and biodynamic practices, and really decent prices. I acquired Witch Hazel, Calendula Flower, Marshmallow Root, and Slippery Elm just because I was mostly going for the hormonal balancing aspect BUT figured might as well give the colon all the love it wants! Our colons are some of the most diseased in the world, here in the West, and so if you don’t have any specific herbal goals, feel free to borrow this list in order to support your colon, too.
This Shea Butter is from Mary Tylor Naturals and is organic and 100% pure and raw. You can use Shea Butter for haircare, skincare, and so many applications outside of suppositories, so feel free to find other fun recipes and make your own, organic, high quality body care while you’re at it!
General Recipe:
1/4 cup Shea Butter
1/4 cup Coconut Oil
2 tbsp. herbs
Melt the oils on low in a stainless steel saucepan, sprinkle in the herbs, stir gently to combine. When all is uniformly mixed, use the droppers to deposit liquid into each receptacle until brimming. Place into the freezer for at least an hour. PRO TIP: Place the moulds on a small cutting board before filling to allow them to stay firm and even when placed into the freezer on the same board.
After an hour or longer, remove just one group of moulds at a time and push each suppository out. It is not recommended to keep them all out of the freezer during the entire process, because they will melt quickly! Transfer the removed suppositories to a storage container and place in the fridge while you remove the rest, one by one.
Use one suppository every night before bed. Some people may find it most comfortable to wear something to absorb excess oil that may leak, depending on your situation. I haven’t found this necessary but it is worth mentioning in case it troubles you.
May you find some hormonal balance, vaginal healing, rectal healing, or just hyper-charged healing to the bloodstream!
